The Best Dog Biscuit Ever

It’s common knowledge to those who know her; my dog Snookie never turns down anything edible.

Never.

She was built to eat. Food beats naps, though only marginally.

Snookie at her favourite spot-the kitchen corner.

Because of her basic instinct towards food, Snookie’s my constant companion while I bake-  a close watch is kept on my every move, always hoping for a sample or two. Unsuccessfully, though. We’re on a mission to get our over-chubby dog to trim down- so most treats are off limits.

So began my hunt for a healthy bake that would satisfy both mutt & me- and The Best Dog Biscuit Ever was found-modified and sits at the top of my favourite cookies to bake list!

The Best Dog Biscuit Ever

This recipe is very simple, made with easily available ingredients & beats buying ridiculously expensive dog treats, which I’m certain do more harm than good to your pet.

You should give it a go!

Recipe

The Best Dog Biscuit Ever

Ingredients :

Rolled Oats 1/2 Cup

Whole wheat 1 Cup

Milk powder 1/4 Cup

Peanut butter 1/2 Cup

Egg 1

Dried Parsley 1/2 tsp

Freshly grated carrot (optional) 1/4 Cup

Cold water 1/4 Cup

Method :

  • Mix all ingredients to make a dough. Dough should come away easily from the hands. Shape into flat disc and wrap in cling film. Chill in the fridge for 30 mins or more.

  • Pre heat oven 150c.

  • Roll out to 1/4 ” thickness and use favourite cookie cutter – cut out shaped and place on parchment lined baking tray. I used a cute bone shape!

  • Bake in the centre of pre heated oven for 60 mins. Cookies should be hard.

  • Cool completely on rack before storing in airtight container. Lasts for 1-2 weeks
